About Myra Prestidge
I started my practice in estate planning and elder law because I want to help people plan for the future and take care of themselves and their loved ones by doing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives. I want to make this process as simple and stress-free as possible and to design a plan that reflects your needs and wishes.
I also practice trust administration and probate and can guide you through the process of administering an estate or going through probate after a death.
Additionally, I practice mediation and enjoy helping people find solutions to problems and resolve conflicts. I can assist with cases such as family disagreements regarding care of an elder, landlord-tenant disputes, and employment conflicts. I have considerable mediation experience through my previous work as a state administrative law judge and as a volunteer mediator with the Conflict Resolution Center of Santa Cruz County. I have certificates in both community mediation and elder mediation.
I graduated from the Santa Clara University School of Law and also have a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and sociology, with honors, from UC Santa Cruz. Over the past several years, I have completed extensive training in estate planning and elder law. I am also a VA-accredited attorney and can represent veterans in cases related to obtaining Veterans Administration benefits.
I am a member of WealthCounsel, the Santa Cruz County Bar Association, and the Santa Cruz Estate Planning Council.
I served as an administrative law judge for the State of California in San Francisco for approximately 14 years. I also previously was the Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Mountain View and the Assistant City Attorney for the cities of American Canyon and Redwood City.
I look forward to meeting you and to having the opportunity to assist you and your family.
Thank you for your interest in my practice.
